Jacqueline Gonzales – ΘK #2
Vice President
Hello! My name is Jacqueline Gonzales. My ethnicity is Mexican-American and American-Indian. I grew up in Riverside, CA. I am a Christian believer. A little bit about my personality is that I am shy and quiet in the beginning, however, as time passes I break out of shell and you will see that I can be loud, funny, a good listener, and caring.
Here is a little bit of history about me! Growing up I realized that helping others is my passion and I wanted a career that revolved around that. “Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6:8, NJV). I have held this Bible verse close to my heart because it means that I am not a person whom will shy away from helping others, not matter how difficult it may seem. I decided law enforcement was my chosen path because helping and saving people is in the job description. I moved to Rohnert Park, CA to attend Sonoma State University at age 17. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies. I am a first generation graduate. During my junior year of undergrad I interned at a non-profit foster care agency, where I fell in love with social work practice. I decided to further my education and applied to California Baptist University (CBU) for my Master’s degree.
Currently, I am attending CBU for my Master’s in Social Work with a clinical concentration. I recently completed my first year with a 4.0 GPA and I am expected to graduate in May 2020. My plan after graduation is to pursue my licensure to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Further down the road I plan to further my education by pursuing my Doctorate in Social Work (DSW). My career goal is to combine my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees by pursuing a career in Forensic Social Work.
