Scholarship

Many Chicana/Latina individuals have the potential to pursue higher education, but not all get the opportunity to do so. In collaboration with our Alum Association, Sigma Pi Alpha Sorority, Inc. is dedicated to empowering Chicana/Latinas through education and community service, acting as role models and mentors for the younger generation. We believe in the potential of every individual to pursue higher education and strive to demonstrate this through our actions.

Our initiatives include mentoring at various educational levels and raising funds annually for scholarships to support emerging leaders who share our goals. This collective effort aims to ensure the success of Chicane/Latine students and contribute positively to our communities.

SCHOLARSHIP FY 2025
Applications NOW OPEN!

We are delighted to share that our scholarship applications are officially open! This year, we are offering two $250 scholarships. These scholarships aim to support students in their educational journeys, reflecting our commitment to empowering our community through education.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Maintain a GPA of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (submit an unofficial transcript as proof).
  2. Be of Chicana/Latina background.
  3. Currently attending or accepted into a 4-year college or university as an undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. student, recognized by a nationally approved accrediting organization.
  4. Submit a Statement of Educational and Career Goals.
  5. Provide one letter of recommendation.

📌 Important Details:

  • Deadline to Apply – Feb 15, 2025
  • Eligibility – U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is not required and will not be considered during the review process.

Members of the public are welcome to apply and must email their application materials directly to our Community Service Chair at alumassociationphilanthropy@gmail.com.

Sisters of our sorority are encouraged to apply and must submit their applications through the designated Google Form at the following link: https://forms.gle/FAENBfthhvr48pJQ7. After submitting their application, sisters must also email our Community Service Chair at alumassociationphilanthropy@gmail.com to verify that their application has been received.
